The 100 Women Who Care On The Indian River Chapter Guidelines:
 

Membership

• There is no membership fee to join our chapter. We do not collect or hold any money directly.

• To become a member, you sign your name to a commitment/pledge form. It is It is your promise, your pledge to donate at least $100 at each meeting that will be donated to charity.

• By joining, you are committing to donate $100 per quarter for four quarters ($400 total) each year. You can continue as long as you want. You are not obligated to remain a member for a specified period.

• If you do not meet your commitment, you are considered “not in good standing.” Members who are not in good standing cannot submit charities or participate in voting.

• You do not have to attend meetings in person to continue your membership, although we hope that you do! You can donate online and provide a receipt of your $100 donation to stay in good standing.

• If you do not submit donations for more than four (4) quarters, your membership will be made “inactive.”
   

Eligible Charities

• Organizations must be a registered 501(c)(3). 

• Organizations must have their main office in Indian River County OR a neighboring county. Donations benefiting national charities will be considered if used for a local need.

• Organizations must have been in existence for at least six (6) months.
   

Submitting Charities for Awards

• Only members who are in good standing may submit an organization to be entered into a random drawing to present to members at one of our quarterly meetings.

• New members must complete the commitment form, attend at least one meeting, and participate in that meeting’s donations before they will be allowed to sponsor (submit) a charity.

• If your charity does not win, you may continue to submit the same organization until it has received a donation. 

• Charities can win one award within a twelve (12) month period before they are eligible to be sponsored again.

• Charities can be submitted at check-in at the upcoming meeting. 

• Three charities are selected at each meeting, along with the name of the sponsoring member, by random drawing. 
   

Presentations​

• You have exactly five (5) minutes to present. No PowerPoint’s, visuals or handouts are allowed during your presentation. If your presentation runs past the 5-minute time frame, we will interrupt. Limiting presentations to the allotted time allows us to keep our meetings to just one hour.

• If a charitable organization has received funding any time in the past, either from our chapter or from another local 100 WWC chapter, this fact must be disclosed during the presentation. (This will not prohibit you from receiving an award.)

• We cannot accommodate multimedia presentations, slides, posters, or anything else that would require setup. You are, however, allowed to pass out materials before the meeting or after your presentation. (Feel free to enlist a friend to help pass out materials!)
   

Voting

• Only members who are in good standing may vote.

• Only in-person attendees will be allowed to vote.

• If you are eligible to vote, you’ll have a ballot in your name tag at the meeting.

• The leadership team counts the votes during the meeting. All counts are final.
   

Donating​

• Yes, your employer can match your donation! If there is a form, submit it to 100WomenIR@gmail.com.

• While your commitment is to give $100 to the winning charity, you’re always welcome to donate more or give to anything additional to any of the non-winning organizations. However, no credit is given toward your membership standing for this.

• Your contribution is tax deductible since the selected organizations are 501c3s. Please contact your tax advisor or visit the IRS website for more information.

• Winning charities will provide tax deductible statements for all donations.
